For over thirty years VAUDE has stood for excellence in mountain sports and is now one of Europe's leading mountain sports brand names. Today VAUDE is one of the very few privately owned enterprises in the industry that has successfully withstood the trend toward consolidation. The company has achieved continuous growth in the mountain sports, outdoor, bike and sports fashion sectors. 60% of our turnover comes from sales in Germany, 40% comes from exports. VAUDE products are sold world-wide.

Our company is based in Tettnang, between Friedrichshafen and Ravensburg near Lake Constance in southern Germany. About 200 employees and colleagues work here, where we offer a wide variety of apprenticeship and career training programs. This is also where a large part of our research and product development is played out. However VAUDE has an truly international presence and is represented on over 40 countries world wide, with over 1,200 personnel world wide.

RESEARCH & DEVELOPEMENT

VAUDE’s reputation for excellence in mountain sports equipment has been helped by the fact that most of our employees themselves are enthusiastic about mountain sports, and the experience from their adventures flows directly into our products. We are open to new ideas and committed to both innovation and defining new trends in the market.

Continuous improvement is only possible when the entire product development process is included. For us here at VAUDE, basic research is not only an investment in outstanding product quality, but also in your safety as a consumer.

We challenge the status quo and form our own conclusions, with results that flow directly into our product development. Understanding the mechanisms of how man and gear perform together translates directly into successful design and development.

No material can bypass our testing laboratory in VAUDE HQ, Tettnang where it's thoroughly examined, abraded, shaken up, and torn at. Only when it has successfully passed this stringent testing is it released for manufacturing use. But even then it cannot evade the tough standards of our laboratory. To ensure highest quality control we carry out regular random tests that guarantee quality maintenance of the entire production process. VAUDE's own testing laboratory is unique in the Outdoor industry. This past year, VAUDE has expanded again in order to provide our R&D and quality control teams extensive diagnostic methods and instrumentation for testing textiles and hardware according to the latest standards.

UK MARKET

VAUDE has been distributed in the UK for 18 years. With over 150 retail outlets and a number of mail order retailers the entire VAUDE collection is available to all.

PRODUCTS

Tents - Our tents have a tremendous reputation for their innovative and intelligent design. All VAUDE tents have a distinctive look and feature unique design innovations that make them more stable, lighter weight, easier to pitch and more practical to live with.

Rucksacks – Our fastest growing category! Welded seam technology has produced totally waterproof rucksacks, and ultralight fabrics have reduced packs weights to as little as 400gms.

Following research into the unique requirements fo the UK market we developed the Triset collection. This is a range of rucksacks where the fit, features and colours have been adapted specifically to UK market requirements demanded.

Bike Luggage – VAUDE’s comprehensive range of panniers feature the roll top closure Discover series. Using ultrasonic welded seam construction these panniers are harder wearing and 20% lighter weight than competiors product.

Clothing – Featuring eVENT fabrics VAUDE’s extensive apparel collection can take you mountaineering, trekking, skiing or biking.
