This year there were approximately 670 applicants for the competition – a 20% increase over last year – representing all key branches of the German economy. The award is the most prestigious sustainability award in Germany today. Until the winner is announced, all “Top 3” companies in each category will be recognized as co-equals.
Being chosen for this select group of finalists is a unique recognition of VAUDE’s years of consistent dedication on its way to becoming Europe’s most ecological outdoor supplier. Its holistic and systematic sustainability strategy covers not only the company’s performance as a whole, but also ecology in development, production and sales on a product level. This mid sized company with its headquarters in Tettnang, in southern Germany, has been regarded as an ecological role model within the outdoor industry for years and is leading the way by labelling all ecologically manufactured products with the company’s own ecologically stringent, quality label Green Shape. VAUDE contributes 1% of all sales of its Green Shape products to WWF Germany.
